Why Some Small Businesses Succeed Where Others Fail

Hello and welcome to my blog on all topics related to business. I come from a long line of entrepreneurs. I am one of a few members of my family who have not yet started a business, though that doesn't mean I won't try in the future. My name is Stacy Pascal and I have spent years interrogating family members in order to find out everything I can about what it is like to run a business. I have decided to start blogging about business topics just for fun and so that I can hopefully help someone start and run a successful business.

3 Reasons A Rented Storage Unit Is A Must-Have For Your Total Home Remodel

There is no reason to pack up everything and move from your home when you have so many options available for remodeling and revamping the house you already have. However, even though remodeling your home can be a fabulous way to make it more valuable and functional, this can be a huge undertaking, especially when you are remodeling the entire home at once. Before you start hiring contractors and getting prepared for this major construction event, make sure you go rent a storage unit.

This may sound like an odd and unnecessary expense, but having a storage unit during your whole home remodeling project will be a blessing. Check out the reasons you should rent self storage units before your home remodeling project begins.

Avoid seeing your home furnishings inadvertently damaged.

A home remodeling project will involve a lot of different contractors, a lot of different tools, and a lot of different materials. All of this commotion can put some of your valuable furnishings at risk. From paint splattered during painting to scratches on wooden furniture caused by a ladder being carried, there are all kinds of things to worry about. If you have a storage unit rented, you can remove those valuable furnishings you cherish the most to ensure they do not get damaged through the project.

Enjoy having clean items to put back in your home when the project is over.

Whole-home remodeling can mean a huge mess inside the house. It is even recommended that the ductwork be cleaned out after a remodeling project because it can be contaminated with drywall and sawdust. This is an unavoidable problem, but what you can do is prevent your household belongings from sharing the same space during the work so it never gets dirty, which is possible if you have a storage unit. By taking this route, you can simply place your clean items in the house when the project concludes instead of spending hours cleaning everything that was coated with dust and debris during the project.

Save yourself some money by cutting labor time inside of the house.

Contractors all have different methods for figuring the cost of various remodeling projects, but one factor that almost always comes up is the time they will spend on preparing a certain room or space before work can begin. If you get a head start and rent a storage unit, you can pull out things you know will have to be removed, such as kitchen cabinets or the vanity in the bathroom.
